The science of covid is moving fast. But trust the experts.
This is the prevailing approach: If you can make a metric for it, you can measure progress.

Of concern is that there will always be a disconnect between theoretical and practical which increases in proportion to complexity of phenomena being described.

Though physics is inviting the most technically proficient, sometimes leading to conflation that it is the most complex of the sciences. It is actually the most computable.

Biology is, however, more complex than chemistry, which is more complex than physics, in terms prediction.

Complexity of computability; the ratio of computable numbers to incomputable numbers; the ratio of observable precision points to amplitudes.

With this in mind, it’s disconcerting that there is such expressed certainty regarding the fast science of covid, given the domain to which it relates.
